La Bimba
La Bimba may sound Mediterranean by name but it is wholly Australian in character and Middle Eastern, European and Asian by cuisine. Realistically, you could call this little eatery by the sea a fine example of fusion.
Speaking of the sea, there is a good representation of aquatic-dwellers on the menu here. This includes the specials, of which there are always a few. There is a good chance a local crayfish will have clawed its way out of the local bay and onto the specials board - perhaps even into the cray linguini that features at La Bimba.
For those not so inclined to dine on seafood, there is a more than adequate selection of carnivorous dishes. That may include, at any one time, succulent pork ribs served with green apple, star anise pods, fennel and lightly baked potatoes.
If you want to take full advantage of the panoramic ocean views, take a trip upstairs to the enclosed bistro. The mood up here is casual-chic with plenty of vibrant works by local artists adorning the walls. Kids can happily mooch around while parents enjoy a relaxing afternoon lunch or mid-evening dinner.
